Who is a good candidate for revision rhinoplasty?

Some common reasons patients seek revision rhinoplasty include:

  1. Unsatisfactory cosmetic results: Patients who are unhappy with the appearance of their nose following a primary rhinoplasty may be good candidates for revision rhinoplasty. This can include issues such as a crooked nose, a nose that is too large or too small, or an unbalanced appearance.

  2. Functional issues: Patients who have breathing problems due to a deviated septum or other functional issues may require revision rhinoplasty to correct these issues.

  3. Trauma or injury: Patients who have experienced trauma or injury to their nose may require revision rhinoplasty to correct any damage or deformities.

  4. Aging: As patients age, changes in the skin and soft tissue of the nose may cause changes in its shape and appearance. Revision rhinoplasty can help address these changes and improve the overall appearance of the nose.

  5. Dissatisfaction with the primary surgeon: Patients who are dissatisfied with the skill or expertise of their primary surgeon may seek revision rhinoplasty with a more experienced and skilled surgeon.

You deserve a nose that you’re comfortable with and the doctors at Visthetic Surgery Institute & MedSpa™ can help!

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this procedure performed?

At Visthetic Surgery Institute & MedSpa®, corrective rhinoplasty is performed using the most advanced and sophisticated techniques available. The exact approach taken by the surgeon will depend on the specific needs and goals of the patient, as well as their unique anatomy. Generally, a rhinoplasty procedure involves making small incisions either inside the nose (closed rhinoplasty) or across the columella (open rhinoplasty) to access the underlying nasal structures. From there, the surgeon may remove or reshape bone, cartilage, and/or tissue to achieve the desired aesthetic and/or functional outcome.
Each patient will have varying procedures based on their facial shape, but the end result is always natural and looks proportionate to the client’s face.

How can i best prepare for this surgery?

We ask clients to restrain from the following two weeks before the procedure:
Aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
Vitamin E
Herbal supplements

We recommend that clients stop smoking entirely but especially two weeks before surgery as nicotine slows down the healing process.

And lastly, we ask clients to refrain from eating at least 24 hours before their surgery.

What can I expect during the healing and recovery phase?

Rest and recovery are critical aspects of the rhinoplasty process. After the procedure, patients typically experience some discomfort, swelling, and bruising, which can be managed with medication prescribed by the surgeon. Here’s what rest and recovery typically look like after a rhinoplasty procedure:

Initial recovery period: For the first week following surgery, patients will need to rest and avoid any strenuous activity. They should also avoid blowing their nose, as this can disrupt the healing process.

Swelling and bruising: Swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes are common after rhinoplasty and can last for several weeks. Applying cold compresses can help reduce swelling and bruising.

Follow-up appointments: Patients will need to attend follow-up appointments with their surgeon to monitor healing and ensure that there are no complications

When will I see results?

It can take several months to see the final results of a rhinoplasty, as the nose will continue to heal and settle into its new shape. Patients should be patient and follow their surgeon’s instructions for optimal healing and results.

How long do results last?

Rhinoplasty, aka nose surgery, is permanent and results will last your entire life. That is why it’s so important for you to choose a trusted doctor to ensure you get the best results possible!
